Personal Care, Respite and Social Support

Personal Care
The NCWA may be able to provide you with personal care services in the Perth metropolitan area.

Personal care is assistance with daily care tasks which the person is unable to carry out themselves due to their condition. Personal care can include bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other similar assistance.

Once your eligibility for this service has been established, the NCWA will provide you with a care plan which details the frequency and nature of your personal care service.

Please contact the NCWA if you would like more information about this service.

Respite
Respite is overnight and short term care which allows the carer to take planned time away from the person for whom they care. Respite is important for a carer’s health and wellbeing to assist them to continue to provide long term care.

Respite may involve a carer coming into the home, thus freeing the primary carer to pursue activities outside; or may involve providing respite for the client away from the home in respite accommodation.

The NCWA can provide you with further information about this service. Please contact the NCWA to find out more.

Social Support
Social Support provides an opportunity for the person to maintain function and interaction within the community. It can include accompaniment at social outings and assistance with shopping, banking, appointments or just keeping company.

Please contact the NCWA for more information about this service.
