John McLean - Treasurer

John McLean is a Chartered Accountant with nearly 40 years’ business experience. He is a professional director and owns a management consultancy firm. Consulting across a range of organisations, including West Australian not-for-profits, John advises on strategic and financial matters and shares his technical insights and experience by presenting on various topics. Having coached and mentored throughout his professional career, John continues to enjoy and has an ongoing interest in board effectiveness, governance and succession planning. John commenced his career at Deloitte where he qualified and spent 16 years practising, including five years as Partner. Following his time at Deloitte, John was sponsored to Australia by Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC) where he spent six years before becoming General Manager then CEO of a large professional services firm, before retiring in August 2013. John is a graduate of AICD’s Company Director course and is a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA).
