Youth Voices on Screen: Your Story. 60 Seconds. Big Impact.

Got something to say about brain health? To celebrate Brain Awareness Week, the Neurological Council is inviting young people aged 12–25 to create a short 60-second video that shares what it’s really like to live with a neurological condition — or care for someone who does. Real stories. Real impact. No fancy equipment needed.
This project is part of Brain Awareness Week and is proudly sponsored by IBRO and the Dana Foundation. Submissions open 5 March 2026 and close 17 April, 2026.
About the project
Youth Voices on Screen is a short‑video showcase designed to amplify the voices of young people with lived experience of neurological conditions.
Through creative storytelling, participants can help increase understanding of the brain, challenge stigma, and show how neurological conditions shape identity, learning, relationships and everyday life.
Selected films will be:
- shared across the Neurological Council of WA’s social media channels
- shared with community and sector stakeholders
- celebrated at an April 2026 NeuroKids Youth Week event in Bunbury
Films do not need to be professionally made — authentic stories matter most.
What can your video be about?
Your up to 60 second video might explore one or more of the following themes:
- Life with a neurological condition
- Brain health and resilience
