The Neurological Council of WA’s Headache & Migraine Clinic provides compassionate, expert care from our NeuroCare Nurse Practitioner and Community Neurological Nurse team. We help you understand your condition, manage symptoms more effectively and improve your quality of life through personalised treatment and support.
Migraine is more than “just a headache.” It affects 4.9 million Australians, costs the economy an estimated $35.7 billion each year, and is the leading cause of disability worldwide for women aged 18–49. One in three Australian women live with migraine, experiencing symptoms that can include nausea, dizziness, light sensitivity, pain and cognitive fog.
Anyone living with headache or migraine is welcome.

The Neurological Council of WA’s Headache & Migraine Clinic is a nurse practitioner-led, community-based service offering faster, more accessible care for people living with headache and migraine. Our goal is to ease pressure on GPs and neurologists while empowering people to better understand and manage their condition. We support those with chronic headaches, acute migraines, medication overuse headache and related conditions.
Led by Nurse Practitioner Adrienna Elliot, our team provides holistic care through:

Comprehensive neurological assessments

Diagnosis of migraine and headache subtypes

Education on triggers, symptom tracking and self-management

Individualised treatment plans (including medications and lifestyle approaches)

Ongoing review and tailored support

Referrals to neurologists or other specialists for complex cases

Involvement in research and evidence-based care
We work closely with GPs, neurologists and other health professionals to ensure patients receive coordinated, high-quality care.
A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced clinical training and postgraduate qualifications. Nurse Practitioners are authorised to:
- Diagnose health conditions in collaboration with a patient’s GP and neurologist
- Prescribe medications
- Order and interpret tests
- Develop personalised treatment plans
- Provide ongoing education and support
Our Nurse Practitioner led approach by brings advanced neurological knowledge and community care experience to help patients get the right care — faster.
All appointments at the Headache & Migraine Clinic are bulk billed through Medicare, meaning there is no out-of-pocket cost for patients.

The Headache & Migraine Clinic is based at The Niche, 11 Aberdare Road, Nedlands, within the QEII Medical Centre precinct. Our central location makes it easy to access quality, community-based care close to major health services.
For those unable to attend in person, telehealth appointments may also be available, ensuring people across Western Australia can benefit from specialist support without the need to travel.
