Our NeuroKids nurses support patients, families and carers to understand, manage and navigate their condition and/or symptoms, and connect with necessary or interim clinical, disability and social support services. NeuroKids nurses have broad clinical knowledge and skills to help manage the non-doctored aspects of health care and clinical education. We work with treating professionals including neurologists, paediatricians, GPs, and allied health professionals, as well as specialist community organisations, to help you access the right information and supports at the right time. We can assist to successfully plan and manage hospital discharge to reduce relapse and readmission.
Our NeuroKids Community Neurological Nurses identify care needs, set meaningful health goals and develop care plans that deliver desired outcomes, maximise mental and physical well-being and minimise complications. We encourage self management with monitoring and interim clinical support, as needed, (e.g. while waiting for GP and specialist appointments).
NeuroKids Community Neurological Nurses coordinate with neurologists, paediatricians, GPs, allied health professionals, and specialised community organisations to address care needs, condition changes and facilitate successful referrals and medical appointments. We help improve health literacy and
skills to access information, services, financial aid and entitlements where and when needed.
We help to prevent relapse and readmission by ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.
The NeuroKids services is delivered across Western Australia. Our Perth and Bunbury based NeuroKids Paediatric Community Neurological Nurses are supported by our team of NeuroCare Community Neurological Nurses in our Albany and Geraldton offices, and mobile nurses in the Peel and Wheatbelt regions.

Testimonials
“Thank you for the effort that I can see going on in the background. I’m so grateful.”
“It has been extremely helpful knowing you are available should we need more support. It was so helpful having you start the process for NDIS through facilitating contact with Kiind. This has meant we are finally at the point of receiving an NDIS plan and funding. You took the feeling of overwhelm away and helped us get started. Thank you.”
"Your Paediatric Community Neurological Nurse contacted me and spent a considerable amount of time listening to my worries and concerns over the phone and followed up with a house visit to meet my son, and the family. She took the time to listen to our son’s story, and provided us with information, resources and guidance, and gave us a sense of hope for his recovery. My son’s situation is complex, and shea has always made herself available to listen with empathy and provide guidance and support. I am so very grateful to her and the Neurological Council of WA for the amazing support they have given me and my family, but more importantly, my son."
